Seawater cooling dispersant for controlling marine fouling and maintaining heat-transfer performance. Keeping seawater cooling system free from marine fouling free from microbiological bacteria and fungi or macro biological.
SKU RXSOL-40-4003-026 supports positioning this as a seawater-cooling dispersant for controlling marine fouling and maintaining heat-transfer performance.
RXSOL-40-4003-026 Seawater Dispersant SWD
Seawater Dispersant SWD for Marine Cooling Systems
RXSOL-40-4003-026 Seawater Dispersant SWD is a concentrated liquid dispersant designed for use in marine seawater cooling systems to help control marine fouling and prevent the adhesion of biological growth to seawater heat-transfer equipment.
Regular application helps disperse microbiological growth such as bacteria and fungi as well as macrobiological fouling such as mussels, plants and other marine growth, helping maintain seawater flow and heat-transfer efficiency.
Seawater dispersant is a highly effective dispersant for keeping seawater cooling system free from marine fouling. Keeping seawater cooling systems free from microbiological bacteria and fungi or macro biological.
Where to use Sea Water Dispersant?
RXSOL Seawater Dispersant SWD is suitable for seawater cooling circuits used in marine and offshore equipment, including:
Main engine seawater cooling systems
Auxiliary engine cooling systems
Central cooling systems
Marine heat exchangers
Seawater condensers
Cooling-water pipelines
Sea chests and associated cooling-water circuits
Marine heat-transfer equipment
Offshore seawater cooling systems
The product is intended primarily as a fouling-prevention/dispersant treatment. Existing heavy fouling should be mechanically or chemically removed before starting a preventive treatment program.
RXSOL Seawater dispersant SWD is a highly effective dispersant for keeping seawater cooling system free from marine fouling. Keeping seawater cooling systems free from microbiological (bacteria and fungi) or macrobiological (mussels, plants, etc.) growth is essential for maintaining the cooling capacity of today’s high efficiency systems. When used on a regular basis, RXSOL Seawater dispersant SWD prevents fouling by dispersing sea growth and preventing it from adhering to marine heat transfer equipment. RXSOL Seawater dispersant SWD does not contain any phenolics, chlorinated solvents or other harsh chemicals.
Recommended Dosage
The application procedure specifies:
Treatment concentration: 6 ppm
Treatment duration: 1 hour
For achieving approximately 6 ppm, the reference dosage is:
0.6 litre of product per 100 tonnes of seawater flow
The product can be introduced using a gravity head tank and flow meter, eductor dosing unit, or suitable pump-and-tank dosing system. The recommended injection point is immediately after the external sea-chest cooling-water strainer so that the product is properly dispersed throughout the seawater cooling circuit.
Recommended Treatment Frequency
Vessels operating continuously in coastal waters:
Dose approximately every 3 days.
Ocean-going vessels:
When operating in coastal waters, dose approximately every 2 days; when operating away from coastal waters, dose at least once per week.
Actual treatment frequency should be adjusted according to vessel operating conditions, seawater quality, fouling tendency and the vessel's water-treatment program.
It is recommended that the seawater cooling system be cleaned prior to beginning a prevention program featuring dispersant. The reason for cleaning is that if the cooling system is already fouled, the product will disperse new growth present but not existing growths. Therefore, to achieve the desired heat transfer condition,we recommend that all existing growth be removed.
Seawater dispersant may be dosed via a gravity head tank and flow-meter, an eductor dosing unit, or a suitable pump and tank system to a sea chest at the recommended concentration rate of 6 ppm for a period of one hour. To achieve 6 ppm, dose 0.6 liters of Seawater dispersant per 100 tons of water flow. Dosage should be for one hour. The best point for injection of the dilute solution of the product is immediately after the external sea chest COOLING WATER TREATMENT strainer. This provides total dispersion and mixing with the seawater. The mixed solution thus will contact all parts of the seawater cooling system.
