Product Description:

N,N′-Methylenebisacrylamide (MBAm or MBAA)[1] is a cross-linking agent[2] used during the formation of polymers such as polyacrylamide. Its molecular formula is C7H10N2O2. Bisacrylamide is used in biochemistry as it is one of the compounds of the polyacrylamide gel (used for SDS-PAGE). 

Product Application:

N,N'-Methylene-bis-acrylamide is a cross-linker reagent used for precise, critical PAGE gels. May be used in UV scanning gels. It should mixed with acrylamide for making polyacrylamide gels for use in protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis.

 

 

Product Dose:

Bis-acrylamide is used to create crosslinks between acrylamide to generate polyacrylamide gel in electrophoresis gels. The ratio of bis-acrylamide to acrylamide manipulates the porous characteristics of the polyacrylamide gel. Storage/Handling: Store at 2-8 °C. Product is air and light sensitive.
