Formic acid is an effective chemical for removing scale from equipment and surfaces due to its ability to dissolve calcium, magnesium, carbonate, and iron.

Product Application:

Chemical experiments on scale samples show that formic acid can effectively remove the scale of the cooler. Through the acid immersion test, it was found that formic acid can effectively remove the scale attached to the plate, and its corrosion effect on the cooler plate is also small.

Peeling: The acid solution dissolves the oxide on the metal surface, breaking the bond with the scale.

Air enthalpy: The reaction with scale produces carbon dioxide gas, which can detach scale from heated surfaces. 

Formic acid can be used for household and industrial cleaning, and can remove scale from evaporators, heat exchangers, and other equipment. It can also be used to remove limescale, and is one of the acids used in Cillit Bang Limescale & Shine.
