Product Description:

Removes Salt rust protective Degreasing Compound. HOLD BRIGHT is a single component additive that removes salts, prevents flash rust, and degreases surfaces, removing contaminants like oil and blast residue.
Rust Guard Rust Preventive Liquid is an inorganic corrosion inhibitor specially designed for temporary rust protection of ferrous metals after acid cleaning or rust removal processes. Formulated with a proprietory blend, Rust Guard Rust Preventive forms a thin, transparent, and adherent silicate film on metal surfaces that inhibits flash rusting caused by moisture and air.

Unlike oil-based rust preventives, RXSOL RustGuard Rust Preventive leaves no greasy or sticky residue and is ideal for parts that are to be painted, assembled, or stored indoors for short periods. The protective layer does not interfere with welding, machining, or further surface treatments.

This product is free from chromates, non-flammable, and environmentally safer, making it suitable for use in workshops, fabrication yards, and industrial process lines.

Product Application:

Typical Use Case of HOLD BRIGHT is a water additive that prevents flash rusting of wet abrasive-and water-blasted iron and steel surfaces and of dry-blasted surfaces in a pressurised wash down. It effectively removes all salts, including chlorides, sulphates, phosphates, nitrates, etc. and other contaminants, including oil, grease, and blast residues. 

  • As a passivation rinse in steel processing
  • For pipes, tanks, tools, flanges, and auto parts
  • In metalworking shops, shipyards, and fabrication plants
  • Temporary protection before painting or powder coating

Note: Water that contains a high concentration of salts, carbonates and/or bicarbonates (i.e. "hard water"), or other contaminants may interfere with the performance of HOLD BRIGHT. Industrial or plant water is often a problem, so should be avoided. In a few areas, even potable ("drinking") water may also be a problem. In most cases "bad" water can be corrected easily and inexpensively. Hard water may also be a problem for some equipment. Consult the manufacturer. In most localities, water treatment on site is accessible and inexpensive. If you are not obtaining the results you expect, it is possible that you have a water problem. Call our technical service staff if you have any concerns or questions about water.

Application Instructions : HOLD BRIGHT is typically used in both blast water and wash down water. It is diluted with water depending on the application, humidity, and level of surface contamination. 100:1 is the most common dilution ratio.

 

Dilution:

 

  • Dilute In high humidity environments with highly contaminated substrates (e.g. steel plate used in ocean service or exposed to 'dirty" air), 50:1 may be necessary for both cycles. 
  • Instruction for use Determine the dilution ratio: With low humidity and a relatively clean surface, 100:1 dilution on the blast cycle
  • And 100:1 on the wash down should be satisfactory.

Application Methods:

  • Spray, brush, or dip the metal parts in the diluted solution.
  • Ensure full coverage and allow to air dry naturally.
  • Do not rinse off after application unless protection is no longer required.

 

Drying Time:

  • Surface-dry in 10–30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Drying can be accelerated with gentle warm air (below 60°C).

HOLD BRIGHT Prime the surface according to the specification: Priming should be done as soon as possible, before flash rust appears and after the surface is dry. Consult the Primer manufacturer for required surface conditions. Typically, HOLD BRIGHT can prevent flash rust on a freshly prepared surface for 48 hours, or longer with favourable weather conditions, (no rain, ambient temperature above +5°C).
